On Friday night my calendar is mark’d
my car alongside edwards will be park’d
Saturday, if planned with any luck,
will be spent with you at hearty sup
perhaps a bonfire, ’round which we will sing
if only you would tell us what to bring!

Given this wonderful rhyming trend
That I hope will surely never end
Alas the original email list
Had a bit of an unfortunate twist
For it was cut in half
By someone a bit daff xo
So for all those
Adept at the prose
Please respond to this full list
Sealed with a Fall Days kiss
Below some recent  half seen rhymes
Guaranteed to have you all feeling fine

Unfortunately we cannot attend
perhaps because we are perpetually on the mend
Daunted by unparalleled rhetoric and rhyme
and declining athleticism due to age and wine
the Burtons, most sadly have to decline.
We will raise our glasses and toast
all of those (and some who will not) boast
to be fleet-footed runners and bionic paddlers
and those that sit on the sidelines of battle
and wholehearteldy prefer to to cheer and prattle.

I will be there, hands in the air!
And will bring my own knife for pumpkin carving delight.

I nominate Nick to lead the sand dollar walk (ha!) and bet Malcolm will be the first to jump off the dock (for the Polar Bear swim).

Johnny’s been training to win the whole race, God knows I’ll be trailing back in last place. Just make sure, to give us girls a head start… and lots of prizes and good, flattering talk.

Especially about a really good time
To be had by all
Now that its Fall
Tho I’ve missed it before
I’ve felt the allure
To mingle with Bitches and Navy Seals, who always made me whine
I’ll still be chasing after you Sunday, across the finish line.
Can’t believe I’m now invited to your fires..
Yeah you remember, you great big liars!
I’m just so thankful you’re all still alive
I’ Il come around Saturday to see you at 5:00.
(Will be especially great to see Poet Palo after so many years!)

Hey Fall Days Team
Mariah and Whitter’s it is for Friday night, man won’t it be a delight. It will be time to party right, let’s hope no one’s pants are to tight or running might be a funny sight. Either way it will be a fun weekend to party down just make sure not to drown!

The season of the setting sun,
Upon us now, I know, because
Of the “poetry” sent to me
By my dear brother, who, you see
Harbors within his happy breast
A Robin called a dream to best
A competitor who seems to be,
In terms of Fall Day’s Racing, thee
Unconquerable Hercules.
And so, to aid his happy hope,
I will amidst these vacant tropes
Propose multiple strategies
To undermine the king, Jordi,
Like, for instance, to include
Within the contents of his food,
The chemical which when intook
Turns the intestines to a brook,
Or maybe just to falsify
The time when sounds the starter’s cry,
Or, if the mood leans more to vicious,
Enact some bat-borne bone incisions.
Haha, just kidding, but, in truth,
Someone should buy some 80-proof
The night before the race horn hisses
And say Vermonters drink like prisses.

The Fall Days competition is getting stronger,
So I cannot delay my attendance any longer.
Jordi has been dominant for many years,
Causing his piers to shed a river of tears.
The field will look to see who can give Jordi a race,
With God’s help Minister John might keep with his pace.
Getting through the race is only half of the story,
It will take more than just running to get all the glory.
The weekend seems filled with activities,
Make sure you’re ready for the festivities.
It’s time for the real deal
So how do you all feel?
Jordi, he needs to be beat 
Who shall be up to this feat!!
I hope you feeling quite trim
Cause after the polar bear swim
Almost as good as real jacuzzi
You will get a  free coozy !!
Rodgy Dodgy will not disappoint
As his prizes are sure to fully anoint
The one who carves the finest seed
Shall get a 30 second race day lead
With  a Ben St. John bonfire
This weekend just can’t get any higher!
So Please do beg
As we will probably also get a keg

John, and other friends -
Planning to  revel ’til the party ends
Fleet of foot and hairy-chested men shouldn’t make my spirts dampen
teamed with Scot (and other pals), I hope to leave those basterds crampin’

My first delay, to find a boat… one with more than Audax float
Despite  a toned and sturdy “shouldah”, searching for one with hidden “motah”
No matter how our gentlemen slow, the final result we all full know…
When a chatting pack hits the beaches, it marks the first of Jordi’s reaches
Recalling days of nordic glory, the boy won’t slow till he’s the story
Toes in sand and lifted chin, there’s one demand: his Fall Days win

No matter how results do tally, we’ll all depart as grinning Sallys
I’ve had the chowdah made by John, and I won’t leave until it’s gone
Until the 10th, I declare, I hope you all will see me there!

Fall Days beckon welcomed memories
Full of laughter, cheer and competitive comradeship
Victory embraces await days end.

Orange hats and lets go Pats!

Thank you to all for competing, for hanging out, for making this Fall Days such a smashing success.

And when next year comes

• 10:00 RACE TIME,(BYO Kayak/Canoe or just run for the fun!)
• 11ish  Famous almost forgotten Chowder and award ceremonies
